Lumaglass™ - Project GEORGE

Cast wired sandblasted glass with white light
Lumaglass was specified by Chetwoods Architects to create a
bright and functional reception area for the new headquarters of
Asda's popular clothing division, George.
The white electroluminescent light used succeeds in creating a
sleek and minimalist look, contrasting well with its black
countertop to mirror George's monotonal corporate colours. The
welcome glowing effect immediately draws the eye and emphasises the
front of house area.
The installation is composed of two Lumaglass screens, the first
of which runs the length and breadth of the wall to the rear of the
reception desk itself. On a split level this functions dually as a
reception desk and drops down to a lower height to provide a
workstation for front of house staff. Open on one side for ease of
access the design also incorporates a corner detail, Lumaglass were
able to form this corner without the need for any outer or
additional framework, the glass simply flows around the angle
producing a clean and uninterrupted effect.
