Lumaglass™ at Dartford Community Hub

Dartford Community Hub, designed by architects Hazle McCormack Young, centralises some key community services including a primary school, nursery, community centre and health facilities for Dartford and the surrounding area. Lumaglass was specified to create a fun and dramatic main entrance for the multiuse, purpose built campus.

This dazzling Lumaglass façade commands attention with its eye-catching range of stock colours. A vibrant spectrum of light in keeping with the synergy of ages, backgrounds and creeds at the heart of the design for this contemporary community project.

The screens impressive overall height of nine metres creates a stature and presence symbolic to the integral role that the development plays in the community. Integrated into the everyday lives of those in the surrounding area, the building plays a crucial part, not only by satisfying the day to day needs of the neighbourhood, but also in the growth of relationships and community spirit.

As well as being highly focused on the people for which the building was intended, the design also encompasses environmental considerations, such as the sustainability of the materials used in its creation.

The building has the capability to harvest rainwater and has taken extra energy conservation measures. Lumaglass' low energy light source combined with the low u values it was able to achieve made it perfect for inclusion in the project.
